This is a great job for someone who enjoys designing and improving complex actuarial systems, understands how data flows across the insurance value chain, and wants to shape the future architecture of Aviva's modelling and reporting landscape.

We're looking for an Actuarial System Architect to join our Modelling & Systems team. This role will focus on the design, integration and evolution of our actuarial systems ecosystem, ensuring data, models and reporting processes work seamlessly from source administration systems through to finance, risk and regulatory reporting.

You'll work closely with actuarial, finance, risk, technology and data teams to define future-state architecture, improve system efficiency and ensure our modelling environment remains robust, scalable and fit for the future.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Own the end-to-end view of actuarial data and modelling processes, overseeing how information flows from source systems through to actuarial, finance and regulatory reporting outputs.

  • Identify and deliver opportunities to improve automation, integration, governance and operational efficiency across the modelling and reporting landscape.

  • Provide architectural expertise and challenge on system design, data structures, controls and implementation approaches, ensuring robust and scalable solutions.

  • Partner with actuarial, finance, risk, technology and data stakeholders to develop and implement strategic improvements across the wider systems environment.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong experience of actuarial systems, modelling environments or financial reporting ecosystems, with a good understanding of end-to-end actuarial processes.

  • Knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS 17 or other actuarial reporting frameworks, with the ability to understand how systems support reporting requirements.

  • Experience working with databases and data architecture, including strong SQL skills and exposure to platforms such as Snowflake.

  • Understanding of actuarial modelling tools such as Prophet and experience using Python, R or similar technologies to support system integration and process improvement.
