Artifact Management Technical Lead

This role would particularly suit someone experienced in software development tooling and DevOps practices, ready to take a step up into strategic ownership, or looking to broaden their influence across a large, diverse technology community.

A bit about the job:   

You’ll join our Developer Applications team, a group dedicated to enhancing the tools and platforms that help Aviva’s developers build secure and scalable software. This role exists to lead the evolution of our artifact management and software supply chain security capabilities—ensuring our engineering community has seamless access to high‑performing, resilient, and secure tooling. You’ll work closely with internal teams to understand their needs, drive improvements, and deliver solutions that enhance both performance and experience. You’ll also play a key role in mentoring colleagues and shaping best practices across the team.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong experience with artifact repository management & software development tools, including Artifactory (required), Xray (required), Azure DevOps (required), Jenkins, GitHub, SonarQube, containerisation technologies, and cloud platforms
  • Hands‑on knowledge of technologies such as Terraform, YAML, Python, Groovy, and Bash, with an understanding of secure software development life cycle principles.
  • Familiarity with SBOM, vulnerability management, license compliance, and modern software supply chain practices.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of technical and non‑technical stakeholders, translating requirements into clear, practical solutions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the capability to troubleshoot complex technical challenges.

  • Salary circa £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
