Cloud Architect – circa £65,000

We’re looking for a strategic and technically skilled Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and resilient cloud solutions across our UKGI Data & MI platforms. This is a key role in our cloud transformation journey, helping us align technology with business goals and regulatory standards.

This role would suit someone who thrives in collaborative environments and enjoys tackling complex technical challenges. You’ll bring deep experience in cloud architecture and be ready to take ownership of enterprise-scale solutions. A bit about the job:

You’ll be joining our UKGI Data & MI team, where we’re focused on delivering high-quality data solutions that drive decision-making and operational excellence. As Cloud Architect, you’ll shape the future of our cloud infrastructure, working closely with engineering, data, and governance teams to ensure our platforms are secure, cost-effective, and built to last. You’ll also play a vital role in mentoring others and embedding best practices across the organisation.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

•                Proven experience as a Cloud Architect in a large-scale enterprise setting.

•                Expertise in AWS (preferred), Azure or GCP, with strong knowledge of cloud security, networking, and high availability.

•                Experience designing and implementing data platforms, integration pipelines, and microservices.

•                Familiarity with DevOps/DataOps practices in cloud environments.

•                Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a collaborative mindset.

  • Starting salary circa £65,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
