Commercial Underwriter – Fleet (with some elements of Property & Casualty)

London - salary £35,000 to £45,000 (depending on experience)

We are looking for an Underwriter to join our London team, aligned to a portfolio of brokers, where you will be tasked with proactively developing and profitably growing your own commercial book of business!

A bit about the job:

We are looking for someone to:

• Be a Fleet  underwriter who operates within agreed guidelines and authority levels to profitably grow the book of business

• Be a great communicator who regularly has meaningful face to face meetings with brokers and/or customers to build their confidence in us and to make Aviva their insurer of choice

• Deal end to end with brokers/customers book of business

• Embrace and understand Aviva’s SME strategy

• Be curious to grow understanding of the commercial business

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Recent experience in an underwriting (preferred!) or a related technical insurance role.

• Strong decision-making and analytical skills within delegated authority.

• Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

• A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.

• Commitment to delivering good customer outcomes and supporting team development.

• Salary of £35,000 to £45,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications) 

• Bonus opportunity of 6% (Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.)
