We're looking for a Mid-Market Commercial Underwriting Team Manager to lead a dynamic team in the heart of the City of London. If you're passionate about driving performance, building strong relationships, and supporting others to thrive, this could be your next step!
A bit about the job:
As our Mid-Market Team Manager, you'll lead a team of 12–15 underwriters, providing direction, support and coaching to help them deliver outstanding customer service and market-leading solutions. You'll be accountable for driving profitable growth, developing team capability, maintaining strong governance standards and fostering a highly engaged team culture. Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll be confident making decisions, managing competing priorities and adapting to changing business needs. You'll also play a key role in building and strengthening relationships with brokers and internal stakeholders, ensuring we continue to deliver excellent outcomes for our customers and partners.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Leadership & People Skills: You're a natural leader who can inspire, communicate clearly, listen actively, and negotiate effectively.
- Insurance Experience: We're looking for someone with a background leading teams within Insurance. A Commercial Underwriting background would be our preference, although candidates from other insurance disciplines will also be considered.
- Industry Connections: Your relationships in the market are top-notch, and you know how to leverage them.
- Analytical Skills: You can analyse risk and present solutions to brokers and clients with confidence. You'll also be comfortable using data and insight to identify opportunities, improve service metrics, and drive better outcomes.
- Love of Learning: You're always curious, eager to learn, and excited to improve and grow both personally and professionally.

- Competitive salary (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
