A bit about the role

The purpose of this role is to provide expert advice to our local leaders. In this role, you’ll help interpret existing and emerging regulations, offering practical insights that empower leaders to make informed decisions for our customers and for Aviva. You’ll work closely with stakeholders through a collaborative risk business partner model, while also taking a directive approach when regulatory requirements are clear-cut.

Your expertise will be instrumental in preparing compliance opinions and oversight reports on behalf of the Chief Conduct & Compliance Officer.

Your influence will extend to major product and distribution developments, where your input will help shape direction and ensure we’re delivering positive outcomes for our customers. You’ll also prepare reports for local Committees, senior management, Group, and other key stakeholders, while building strong relationships with the local Executive and Senior Leadership.

In addition, you’ll oversee significant Conduct Risk events and remediation activities, and proactively use conduct risk data to identify emerging risks within UK General Insurance. Your recommendations and strategic advice will play a key role in shaping mitigation efforts and strengthening our risk culture.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Previous experience working within a Conduct focused compliance role working within Financial Services, ideally insurance.
  • Excellent knowledge of the UK financial services regulatory expectations that apply to the local business area.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with 1st line of defence and senior management teams and be seen as a credible and trusted adviser.
  • Strong judgement with the ability to identity and focus on key issues and to clearly and succinctly present them within reporting.
  • Demonstrates great personal and professional integrity - highly credible and respected by key business partners.

  • National salary circa £50,000, London salary circa £60,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
