Compliance Monitoring Specialist

We’re looking for a Compliance Monitoring Specialist to join our ALPI Compliance team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in audit, compliance monitoring, or 2nd line assurance, who can independently assess how well the business is meeting its regulatory, conduct and governance obligations. You’ll play a key role in delivering our annual monitoring plan, carrying out thematic reviews, testing key controls, and providing insight that strengthens our customer outcomes. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Deliver conduct‑focused monitoring reviews in line with the annual Compliance Monitoring Plan, including scoping, fieldwork, control testing and reporting.
  • Assess and challenge the effectiveness of business controls related to conduct of business rules, Fitness & Probity, complaints handling, product governance and other regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with operational teams, Risk and Internal Audit to identify control weaknesses, recommend improvements, and track remediation actions through to completion.
  • Maintain oversight of regulatory and conduct breaches, support the preparation of assurance insights for the Risk Committee, and contribute to wider regulatory reporting.
  • Promote a strong compliance culture by interpreting regulatory changes, updating relevant policies, and supporting compliance‑related training and awareness initiatives.

Skills & Experiences

  • Demonstrated compliance monitoring, audit, or assurance experience within insurance / financial services.
  • Strong understanding of conduct of business rules, Fitness & Probity, corporate governance and wider regulatory expectations.
  • Proven ability to design and execute testing, analyse control effectiveness, and produce concise assurance reports.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to challenge and influence at all levels.
  • Ability to interpret regulatory developments, assess their impact, and provide clear, practical guidance to the business.
