Cyber Security Associate  

Salary:  Circa £42,000 

Location: Bristol or Norwich

A bit about the job 

You’ll be part of our Cyber Security team, helping us keep Aviva safe every day. Your work will centre on detecting threats, monitoring our systems and responding quickly when something doesn’t look right. 

You’ll analyse alerts, investigate incidents, and help us strengthen our defences. 

You’ll also support wider security operations activity—from vulnerability assessments to incident response exercises—so we can stay ahead of emerging risks.

Everything you do will help protect our colleagues, customers and the services they rely on. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for 

• Experience working within a security operations, monitoring or incident response environment. 

• Understanding of threat detection techniques (e.g., SIEM analysis, packet analysis, reverse engineering or malware analysis). 

• Ability to investigate security incidents, identify root causes, and recommend remediation approaches. 

• Awareness of vulnerability management and common cyber risks facing modern organisations. 

• Strong analytical mindset and the ability to translate technical findings into clear, actionable insights.

• Starting salary Circa £42000 (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications)
