Contract - 12-Month FTC

Are you someone who loves to work collaboratively to help projects get data right, first time, by design?

If you are passionate about how and why data governance and privacy can be a force for good, enabling value whilst protecting our customers, employees and stakeholders, then this could be a great fit for you.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract position supporting a major cloud migration project.

A bit about the job:

Our vision for Data Governance and Privacy is to help Aviva value and trust our data, reinforcing the confidence of our customers, partners, and employees. We aim to demonstrate our commitment to protecting sensitive information and ensuring privacy by establishing robust data governance practices across the organization.

This role will involve supporting a large cloud migration on their data governance and privacy journey, ensuring they design for good data outcomes.

Day-to-day responsibilities will include collaborating with the project, architecture, engineering, data governance and privacy communities across the Aviva Group's UK entities.

You will be responsible for ensuring data and privacy requirements are met through the migration of file shares, databases, and applications to the cloud.

The strategy involves a combination of Mainframe and non-Mainframe re-platforming, re-writing, and more straightforward migration of files and databases to AWS.

This role also involves performing advice, guidance, oversight and assurance on the designs and execution of designs for metadata, data quality, data lifecycle management, and privacy.

You will ensure that data management is integral to the project, bringing together teams to foster best practices and knowledge sharing as well as delivering best practice in collaboration with the project.

Furthermore, you will work with impacted business users, data owners etc. to ensure their voices are heard, and their approval is given for the impacts, mitigations and improvements to the data they own, use and manage.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Broad understanding of data governance and privacy.

  • Practical experience of metadata management and data dictionary creation and maintenance.

  • Practical experience with designing data quality and data lifecycle management controls.

  • Experience completing and assessing Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA's)

  • Practical experience of advising and contributing to cloud migration projects.

  • Experience with Mainframe application migration and Collibra would be a distinct advantage.
