Salary: circa £100k

This is a great job for someone who is passionate about building the data foundations that power AI, analytics and smarter decision-making. You may already be a Data Architect, Data Engineering Lead, Knowledge Engineer or AI Platform Architect looking to shape enterprise-wide strategy.

You'll enjoy influencing technology direction, working with senior stakeholders and helping others develop. If you're excited by the opportunity to create scalable, AI-ready data solutions that make a real business impact, we'd love to hear from you.

A bit about the job:

Data and AI are transforming how we serve customers and make decisions across Aviva. Working with technology, data and business teams, you'll define the architecture, standards and roadmaps that support analytics, AI and future innovation.

You'll be accountable for designing secure and scalable solutions that unlock value from both structured and unstructured data. Your work will help ensure our data is trusted, discoverable and ready for the opportunities ahead.

Skills and experience we're looking for:

  • Strong experience in Data Architecture, Data Engineering or AI platform architecture, with a track record of delivering enterprise-scale solutions.
  • Experience designing and implementing cloud-based data platforms using AWS and/or Azure, alongside modern platforms such as Snowflake.
  • Experience designing architectures for unstructured data, knowledge graphs, semantic models, metadata frameworks, taxonomies, ontologies, or enterprise search solutions using technologies such as RDF, OWL, SPARQL, or similar.
  • Understanding of AI technologies, including large language models, vector databases, semantic search and Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
  • Strong Python and SQL skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, provide technical leadership and define architecture standards and roadmaps.
