Salary: £110K - £130K  

Location : London, Bristol, Norwich or York  

This is a great job for someone who is passionate about shaping the future of AI at scale and has deep experience defining enterprise technology strategy, architecture and governance.  

You'll be a recognised AI architecture leader who can influence senior stakeholders, simplify complex technology decisions and create the foundations that enable secure, responsible and innovative adoption of AI across a large organisation.

A bit about the job 

AI is transforming how we serve customers, support colleagues and create value across Aviva. As a Principal Enterprise AI Architect, you'll help shape the technology strategy, architecture standards and governance that enable AI adoption across the business. 

Working as a senior member of our AI Architecture team, you'll define the long-term architecture direction for GenAI, agentic AI and enterprise AI platforms. You'll partner with leaders across technology, data, security and the business to make sure our AI solutions are secure, scalable, resilient and aligned to business outcomes. You'll also help grow our architecture capability, influence strategic investment decisions and provide leadership across some of Aviva's most important transformation initiatives. The role supports our ambition to make AI a core capability for the future of Aviva and the delivery of our One Aviva Transformation programme. 

Skills and experience we're looking for 

• Significant experience defining and governing enterprise architecture strategies, roadmaps and target state architectures within large, complex organisations. 

• Deep expertise across AI and GenAI technologies, including agentic AI, multi-agent systems, LLM platforms, RAG architectures, semantic search and enterprise AI services. 

• Strong experience designing secure, scalable AI solutions on AWS and Azure, alongside modern cloud-native, API-led and event-driven architectures. 

• Experience leading architecture governance, technology investment decisions, Responsible AI adoption, security-by-design and operational resilience practices. 

• Proven ability to influence senior business and technology stakeholders, mentor architecture teams and provide strategic leadership within highly regulated environments.

• Starting Salary from £110K - £130K (depending on location, skills, experience and qualifications)  

• Bonus opportunity of 12% of annual salary. Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva's.
