Location: Norwich based (50% hybrid working)

A bit about the job:
You’ll join our General Ledger Accounting and Financial Control team, helping to run the month-end close and maintain strong financial controls across our General Insurance market. You’ll prepare and review journals, reconciliations, and controls, and work with teams across Aviva to make sure our books and records are accurate. Your work will support the financial control framework and help us deliver reliable outcomes.
You’ll be part of a team that values curiosity, accountability, and continuous improvement. As part of this, you’ll be expected to report the outcomes of controls performed to agreed deadlines and continuously seek ways to improve the efficiency of your tasks. You’ll build a strong understanding of the end-to-end process, with a particular focus on how the processes you own impact downstream reporting and decision-making.
The role involves analysing high volumes of data, so attention to detail is key—alongside the ability to step back, see the bigger picture, and identify the issues that matter most. You’ll also need to quickly develop a good grasp of our business, finance processes, and systems to be effective in your role.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Strong time management and analytical skills
Good Excel skills and a problem-solving mindset
At least 2 years of work experience (finance-related preferred)
Finance and accounting knowledge (Part qualified or ideally studying towards a qualification but not essential)
Comfortable working with data and collaborating across teams
