Life Insurance Apprenticeship - Commercial Propositions

Our Commercial Propositions team designs, develops and manages these products. We work closely with Marketing, Distribution, Pricing, Risk and Strategy to make sure our solutions are competitive, innovative and focused on delivering great outcomes for customers. We also support customer retention by continually improving our products and listening to what our customers need.
As a Life Insurance Apprentice, you’ll use a blend of analytical thinking and creative problem‑solving as you learn how products are built, positioned and improved. From the moment you join, you’ll be supported to take ownership of your learning and grow your confidence as part of a team that values your ideas and development.

Get to know the role: Life Insurance ApprenticeAs an apprentice in our Commercial Propositions team, you’ll work alongside and learn from experienced professionals across a variety of disciplines — including actuaries, social media specialists and product owners. Together, they support new product builds and ensure existing customers get solutions that meet their needs.
You’ll also work with colleagues across Aviva to build strong relationships and gain insight into how different teams contribute to our customer experience. Everything you do will help shape customer outcomes, so you’ll need to be curious, proactive and passionate about delivering great results.
In your first year, you’ll begin the Insurance Practitionership course with ATU and start working towards your Life Insurance exams with the LIA. You’ll be supported every step of the way with a mentor, supervisor, buddy and the Aviva Group Early Careers development programme.
By the end of your three‑year apprenticeship, you’ll have completed a BA (Hons) in Insurance Practice, along with your APA and QFA qualifications — plus valuable professional and personal development experience.
You’ll spend four days each week working in your role and one day studying. It’s a friendly, collaborative environment where questions are encouraged and everyone is here to help you grow.

To join us on this apprenticeship you’ll have to meet the minimum eligibility requirements as set out by the III and ATU Sligo. You will be required to evidence your eligibility prior to starting the apprenticeship to gain entry to the course and employment with Aviva. Confidence communicating with a strong customer focus
An analytical mindset and enjoyment of problem‑solving
A desire to build relationships and engage with people at all levels
The ability to balance study and work and manage multiple tasks

The application process:Step 1: Complete a short questionnaire and submit your CV to be ready for a screening call with one of our Early Careers team
Step 2: Complete online verbal and numerical reasoning tests
Step 3: Attend a virtual assessment centre in May to show us what you're good at and what you enjoy through a variety of exercises
If successful, your apprenticeship will begin in July 2026.
