Litigation Claims Handler - Salary circa £30,000

Location: Leeds

18 month secondment

This is a great job for someone who has claims handling experience and is ready to take ownership of litigation road traffic accident claims. You’ll use your judgement to move cases forward, support clients and policyholders, and work towards the right outcome.

A bit about the job:

You’ll join DLG Legal Services, managing your own caseload of litigation road traffic accident claims and delivering a high-quality service for our insurer clients. The role involves assessing liability, claim value and risk, gathering evidence and deciding the best way to move each case forward. A big part of the job is keeping clients and policyholders updated, explaining the court process clearly and helping them understand what happens next. Working closely with our insurer clients, you’ll manage cases in line with court rules and directions to reach the right outcome. Throughout, you’ll balance great client service with meeting agreed service levels and managing cases efficiently.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Claims handling experience gained within an insurance company or law firm.

• Knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules and Pre-Action Protocols, with experience assessing liability and claim value.

• Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain legal or technical information simply by phone and in writing, and an understanding of managing claims through the OCMC portal.

• Good organisation and attention to detail, with experience managing competing priorities, deadlines and your own workload.

• Experience using a case management system and working towards agreed targets or service levels.

Starting salary circa £30.000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
