Non-Financial Reporting Senior Manager
Aviva have an exciting opportunity for a qualified accountant to join a team within the Finance Reporting Area, that will be developing and implementing non-financial reporting for Aviva in Ireland.
At Aviva, we promote sustainability and lead on climate action and reporting and have reported on climate change in our Annual Report and Accounts since 2004 and have published climate disclosures in accordance with the Taskforce on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) since 2016.
In this new and exciting role the successful candidate will manage the development and implementation of an operating model in Ireland to produce an assured annual non-financial report which complies with the requirements of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) disclosures and any additional or future non-financial regulations. The successful candidate will initially focus on managing the project to produce and approve the first Ireland CSRD disclosures and will manage the non- financial reporting process including CSRD annually.
This role is based in our Dublin office and adheres to Aviva's hybrid working policy.
Duties & Experiences:
- Support the Ireland CFO’s to produce an assured annual non-financial report approved through agreed Ireland and group governance
- Manage the development, approval, production and delivery of all Ireland inputs from relevant business units plus outputs from Group Non-Financial reporting (NFR)
- Manage the project (including resources, reporting and budget) to develop and implement the required operating model in Ireland and Group to meet the requirements of CSRD and future non-financial reporting regulation
- Manage the development of end-to-end processes and controls in Ireland finance, sustainability and NFR teams that will support the preparation of financial disclosures in an controlled auditable environment
- Document the CSRD reporting calendar and instructions for Ireland for NFR, including communication to stakeholders and managing the annual process with auditors to review and assure the disclosures
Skills & Experiences
- Qualified chartered or certified accountant or relevant experience in financial reporting
- Experience of reporting processes and governance with numerical background with strong analytical skills
- Knowledge and active Interest in sustainability strategy and reporting in the area of ESG/NFR
- Positive can-do attitude and strong collaboration skills
- Strong organisational skills with ability to manage high volumes and multiple deadlines and a strong sense of accountability
- Good understanding of the importance of controls and how to evidence and document key controls
- Understanding and expertise in climate reporting including data modelling and scenario analysis is preferred but not essential
