Operational Resilience Specialist
Location: Norwich, Bristol, Birmingham, York, Sheffield, or Glasgow - 50% hybrid
Operational Resilience Specialist – Salary circa £50,000
This is a great job for someone with experience in Operational Resilience, Business Continuity, Technology Resilience or Operational Risk who enjoys working across a wide range of stakeholders to strengthen resilience capabilities. Whether your background is supporting internal business services or providing resilience oversight across subsidiaries and international markets, this is an opportunity to help shape and enhance resilience across a complex global organisation.
A bit about the job
We're looking for two Operational Resilience Specialists to join our Corporate Services & Resilience team within Group COO. While both roles sit within the same team and share a common goal of strengthening Aviva's resilience capabilities, their areas of focus differ.
One role will partner closely with internal business, technology, risk and third-party stakeholders to support the delivery of Operational Resilience activities across important business services, including resilience assessments, service mapping, recovery planning and scenario testing. The second role will focus on supporting and providing oversight to Aviva's subsidiaries and international markets, helping them develop and maintain resilience, recovery and crisis management capabilities aligned to Group standards.
Working across a broad range of stakeholders, you'll provide expertise, challenge and guidance, identify resilience vulnerabilities and support continuous improvement activities that help Aviva remain resilient during severe but plausible disruption events. You will also support resilience testing, crisis preparedness activities and governance reporting.
As part of the roles, there’s an opportunity to be part of the 24/7 Crisis Leadership Support rota, helping ensure Aviva is ready to respond whenever significant events occur.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong understanding of operational resilience principles, frameworks, methodologies and Operational Resilience regulations in the UK, Europe and internationally.
- Knowledge of risk management, governance and control frameworks ideally from Financial Services and/or from another highly regulated environment.
- Ability to work with senior stakeholders across technology, operations, risk and business functions and coordinate activities
- Proven ability to facilitate workshops, conduct reviews and assurance activities, while influencing stakeholders, providing constructive challenge, and building consensus across diverse stakeholder groups.
- Ability to track and drive progress against resilience actions and improvement plans.
