We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to join our team as part of the Trustee Secretariat. This role is perfect for someone with a strong grasp of the governance controls critical to Master Trust and a commitment to delivering high-quality, timely outcomes.
A bit about the job:
As part of the Pension Secretarial Services / Trustee Secretariat team you’ll maintain up-to-date knowledge of governance, regulatory developments, and best practice. You’ll also lead on key documentation including actions, conflicts of interest, fit and proper requirements, and Trustee Knowledge & Understanding (TKU) assessments. A strong awareness of risk and familiarity with the AMT risk framework and register will be essential.
Additionally, you will be responsible for:
Drafting agendas and minutes, overseeing action tracking and record-keeping for Trust-related meetings
Providing governance advice to Trustee Directors in line with pension scheme requirements
Collaborating closely with the Trustee Secretariat Lead, AMT Governance Team, Aviva colleagues, and outsourced service providers
Playing a key role in preparing for AMT meetings and producing meeting packs
Engaging regularly with the Trustee, Head of the Master Trust, Strategist, and other internal/external stakeholders to ensure timely communication and support for decision-making and statutory deadlines
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Solid understanding of DC pensions governance and The Pensions Regulator’s (TPR) requirements
Previous governance or secretarial experience, ideally within a pensions or financial services environment
Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy. Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leaders
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and remain calm under pressure

London salary circa £55,000 and National salary circa £45,000, (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Bonus opportunity - 10% of annual salary Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s.
