Location: Leatherhead / Bristol / Norwich / York / Sheffield
Pensions Governance Manager – Salary circa £50,000 (DOE)
We have an exciting opportunity to join Aviva Master Trust’s (AMT) Governance Team to provide supporting services to the AMT Trustee, including Board and its Committees. You will have responsibility for compliance with pensions legislation, The Pensions Regulator (TPR) requirements and Codes of Practice. This role as the AMT Pensions Governance Manager is to help the Board in achieving and maintaining a strong governance framework within the Aviva Master Trust by providing insight and adding value, driving key activities and ultimately improving outcomes for the AMT’s members.
A bit about the job:
The Pensions Governance Manager will maintain and implement a robust governance framework in line with TPR’s requirements and industry best practice. Responsible for driving key governance and supervisory documents, the role requires close collaboration with a range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the right people receive the right information at the right time, supporting effective decision-making and the achievement of statutory deadlines. Working closely with other AMT Governance Team members, the successful candidate will ensure activity is progressed, documented, and evidenced in line with our obligations as an authorised master trust.
Working alongside the Pensions Governance Lead, the role will support the delivery of high-quality MI and governance documentation that enables the AMT Board and Committees (including the Member Experience & Communications, Investment and Audit & Risk) to achieve their strategic objectives. The role will extend itself to support with updates and oversight of the Forward Planner/Calendar and Action Log for Trustee Board/Committees and contributing to AMT Team and Board meetings on governance activities. The position also plays an important role in both regular and ad hoc activity, including value for members assessments, the Chair's Statement, and the annual supervisory return. In addition, it provides support and guidance across a range of governance and regulatory matters, including projects undertaken by outsourced partners, TPR engagement activity, and evolving industry best practice.
Close partnership with the Operations teams will be key to monitoring adherence to SLAs and other performance metrics, including complaints. The role will also be responsible for conducting timely and thorough reviews of AMT policies, drawing on wider internal and external expertise where appropriate. This includes promoting consistency with, and adoption of, Aviva policy best practice where relevant.
