Programme Communications Lead – 12-18 months Fixed Term Contract
Salary £85,000-£90,000
Location: London, with the initial requirement to be in the office up to 4 days per week.

A bit about the job:
We’re on an exciting journey with our recent Direct Line integration programme — and we need someone to help bring it to life. You’ll shape and lead communication and engagement initiatives within our project, helping to create a sense of alignment, common purpose and shared identity across the multiple integration workstreams, making sure our people understand what’s happening, why it matters, and how they can get involved.
The position holder will work closely with the Communications team, People Function, and programme leads to deliver clear, consistent, and engaging messaging. This role is all about creating connection, clarity, and excitement. You’ll be at the heart of one of Aviva’s most important transformation programmes.
The role involves identifying opportunities and risks and building strong stakeholder relationships. You’ll also contribute thought leadership and help deliver positive outcomes through clear, effective communication and engagement.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- A wealth of experience in internal communications/engagement, this experience being within Insurance or Financial Services is highly desirable.
- Previous experience of supporting successful business change and/or integration programmes; engagement campaigns, overseeing a best-in class channel mix, including digital channels.
- Ability to comfortably navigate through ambiguity and complexity within a large, matrix environment, whilst being adept at managing multiple stakeholders, and have an exceptional eye for detail.
- Have excellent interpersonal skills, a desire and ability to be a self starter and be a collaborative team player with humility and consistently brings energy, positivity and a welcoming presence to every setting.
- Direct experience of, and comfort working into senior leadership. Be highly skilled in providing advice to senior business leaders and adept at building trust quickly and retaining it over time.

- Starting salary between £85,000-£90,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
