You will be confident leading cross-functional teams, engaging with senior stakeholders, and driving project delivery from initiation through to completion. You will also bring strong risk, change, and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to navigate complex challenges and maintain project momentum.

The successful contractor will be able to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with business, technology, and operational teams to deliver successful project outcomes and support organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and delivery of complex projects, ensuring project objectives are achieved.

  • Apply project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.

  • Monitor project progress against milestones and proactively manage project risks, issues, assumptions, and dependencies.

  • Manage project scope and change requests, ensuring appropriate controls and governance are maintained.

  • Produce and maintain accurate project documentation, reports, and status updates for stakeholders and senior management.

  • Facilitate collaboration and communication across project teams, business stakeholders, and third-party suppliers where required.

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and organisational standards.

  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of project management frameworks, processes, and templates.

  • Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior team members and act as a point of escalation when required.

  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, systems, and ways of working to enhance project delivery effectiveness.

  • Support the delivery of positive customer outcomes through all project activities and deliverables.

Skills and Experience

  • Demonstrable experience managing complex projects from initiation through to successful delivery.

  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, governance frameworks, and delivery best practices.

  • Experience working within Financial Services, Insurance, or another highly regulated environment.

  • Proven ability to manage project scope, budgets, timelines, resources, risks, and dependencies.

  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence at all levels of an organisation.

  • Experience producing project plans, status reports, governance packs, and project documentation.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience supporting change management and business transformation initiatives.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Experience mentoring or supporting less experienced project team members.

  • Relevant project management qualifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, Agile, or equivalent would be advantageous.
