Rehabilitation Case Manager
Location: UK - Eastleigh - Chilworth House
Salary: circa £28,500
Working hours: Permanent Full time, Flexible between 8-6 Monday – Friday, 35 hours per week
A bit about the job:
We are currently advertising for a Rehabilitation Case Manager within our Group Income Protection team.
The purpose of this role is to support the employees of our corporate customers in order to facilitate a safe, timely and sustainable return to work following a health related absence.
- Working within our Group Income Protection claims team, you will be able to use an evidence based, biopsychosocial approach to telephonically evaluate the nature of a customer’s symptoms and functional restrictions which have come about as a result of a variety of medical conditions.
- You will be able to identify potential obstacles and consider appropriate intervention pathways to help people recover and overcome such barriers to achieve a successful return to work. This will involve utilising our supplier network to help in an individual’s recovery and may also include negotiating and designing bespoke return to work plans with absent employees, HR teams, line managers, occupational health teams and other relevant health professionals.
- You must be a strong communicator and should be comfortable in taking ownership and accountability in managing the end-to-end process of a portfolio of cases including initial triage calls, considering treatment requirements, communicating with various stakeholders about return-to-work options and you will be able to accurately record all aspects of your case management on our systems.
- You will be required to develop a detailed understanding of our rehabilitation partner network to best identify the most appropriate and effective form of treatment that we may be able to provide given the nature of the medical condition.
- You will act as an advocate for the employee throughout, taking the Equality Act into consideration at all times, while continuing to finely balance the needs of our corporate customers and the commercial implications of each individual claim.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience working within a health, rehabilitation, claims, occupational health or case management environment.
- Strong understanding of health-related absence, workplace adjustments and return-to-work processes, with experience supporting individuals with mental health, musculoskeletal or other chronic health conditions being highly beneficial.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and influence positive outcomes across a range of internal and external parties.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage a portfolio of cases, prioritise workloads and maintain accurate case records.
- Good IT skills, including experience using Microsoft Office and the ability to quickly learn and navigate multiple systems and platforms.
