We’re looking for a Scheme Underwriting Team Manager to join our Commercial team at Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland. You’ll lead a team of group protection underwriters, helping us deliver high-quality scheme quotations and support our ambitious growth strategy. You’ll work closely with Pricing, Propositions, Sales and Customer Experience to shape our underwriting philosophy and improve customer outcomes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach a team of scheme underwriters to deliver high-quality decisions.
  • Approve group protection quotes within delegated authority levels.
  • Support and implement underwriting philosophy and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Manage workload peaks and ensure service standards are met.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships across internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Experiences

  • Strong understanding of group protection products and market.
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Experience in team leadership and performance management.
  • LIA qualification and ability to coach others in management skills.
