Senior Compliance Manager – Lloyd’s

We are looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to support the Head of Compliance in delivering an effective, risk-based compliance framework across a general insurance business, ensuring ongoing adherence to PRA, FCA and other applicable regulatory requirements. If you have experience working at a Lloyd’s managing agent in a senior compliance role, we would love to hear from you!

A bit about the job

Reporting to the Head of Compliance, this role sits within the Compliance team and plays a key part in maintaining a robust, risk-based compliance framework across the business and its international service company network. The role supports regulatory engagement with Lloyd’s, the PRA, the FCA and other relevant regulators, ensuring regulatory requirements are effectively managed and embedded. The successful candidate will provide expert second-line compliance advice and oversight, including oversight of service company arrangements, regulatory obligations, delegated responsibilities and the effectiveness of local compliance controls. They will coordinate regulatory reviews and submissions, support financial crime and sanctions frameworks, and help identify and manage regulatory risks across the managing agent and its service companies. They will also be accountable for delivering compliance plan activities, producing high-quality reporting for senior stakeholders, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Senior level compliance experience within a Lloyd’s managing agent with a strong understanding of Lloyd’s, PRA and FCA regulatory requirements relevant to managing agents, general insurance firms, LIC requirements and service company oversight arrangements.
  • Experience working within a second-line Compliance function, including advisory, monitoring, regulatory engagement, reporting and risk oversight responsibilities with knowledge of financial crime, sanctions, governance, SMCR and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Experience providing second-line oversight of service companies, including assessing local compliance frameworks, monitoring regulatory responsibilities, reviewing control effectiveness and escalating material issues through appropriate governance forums.
  • Experience providing second-line oversight of branch offices, including reviewing regulatory obligations, local compliance arrangements, control effectiveness and escalation of material compliance issues.
  • Experience preparing papers, reports or management information for boards, executive committees or senior governance forums with proven ability to engage confidently with senior stakeholders and provide clear, practical and risk-based compliance advice.
