Salary: National Circa £70,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Data Engineering team in Bristol. Our IWR team, focused on the life business (Wealth, Pensions, Health and protection), plays a crucial role in delivering data solutions for Aviva's business lines. We are currently undertaking an estate modernization program, utilizing cutting-edge tools such as AWS Glue, DBT, and Snowflake. We are seeking a talented individual to drive this initiative forward and support our engineers during this transformative period.

Our Bristol site is well located near Parkway station and has staff parking. The office has an onsite Gym, sports hall, Nursery and even a Lake view to enjoy. We have a hybrid working model giving you some flexibility around your working patterns.

A bit about the job:

As a lead engineer you will be providing technical expertise, embedding the use and standards around new technology and project execution across the development & IT Change community. The role will be critical to ensuring development standards are maintained in delivering performant, sustainable solutions to time and budgetary targets.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• An established Data Engineer who has a drive and passion for engineering concepts and tooling
• Has a strong background in developing on Cloud platforms (preferably AWS) and skilled in Python, Spark, SQL, AWS Glue and Snowflake
• Strong capability to deliver projects and collaborate with our CIO teams, with demonstrable experience of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical specialists.
• Able to provide technical support and mentoring to more junior team members.
• Able to support and help drive forward the adoption of technologies and ways of working across the wider Data Engineering estate.

• Salary Circa £70,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
