As Internal Comms Senior Manager for Leadership and the People and Group Chief Operating Office (COO) teams, you’ll help our people connect to our purpose, live our values and become advocates for Aviva. You’ll help drive engagement and alignment behind Aviva’s strategic business priorities, helping create clarity for people on their contribution to these. 

You'll report to the Head of Group and Functions, working closely to showcase how Aviva is a great place to work. This includes sharing strategic updates from the People function, leading our #AvivaIsForEveryone internal colleague campaign and bringing to life our digital innovation and AI strategy. You’ll also deliver a refreshed leadership internal comms strategy, including three set events, that builds a community of top leaders. You’ll line manage the Internal Communications Manager, People and COO. 

You'll partner the Chief People Officer and Chief Operating Officer, be part of their senior leadership teams, building strong and trusted relationships across their function. 

A bit about the job 

This role would suit someone who is as comfortable with owning and creating strategy as they all rolling their sleeves up to get stuck in with delivery. One moment you’ll be setting the vision for communicating to our community of top leaders and the next you’ll be writing compelling copy that helps to tell the story of why Aviva is a brilliant place to work. You’ll be a real people person, adept at managing senior stakeholders and also a great team mate, playing a key role as one of our extended leadership group.

As part of this you’ll lead a team of one – coaching, supporting and helping them to do their best work. This role suits a confident expert who’s trusted by those around them, leads with clarity and empathy, and stays positive and purposeful when the challenge is high. 

Skills and experience we’re looking for: 

  • You will bring a wealth of experience in employee/internal communications, with direct experience leading HR agendas a plus. You’ll have experience in delivering successful engagement campaigns, overseeing a best in class channel mix including digital channels. 

  • Have direct experience of, and comfort, working into senior leadership. Be highly skilled in providing advice to senior business leaders and adept at building trust quickly and retaining it through time. 

  • Be a people person and a great teammate with low ego and high EQ - an energetic, positive and a welcome addition to every room whilst working collectively to deliver a shared vision. 

  • Be highly organised, adept at managing multiple stakeholders, and have an exceptional eye for detail. 

  • Be an exemplary teammate, at their best when working within a collective to deliver a shared vision. Capable of building relationships fast and inspiring confidence in all around them. 

  • Be a powerful and inspiring leader of people; able to lead by example and to inspire all of those who report into them to step up and improve their own professional output.

  • Salary circa £85,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications).
