Senior Pricing Manager - Darwin
Senior Pricing Manager (Darwin) – Salary Circa £125,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
Locations – UK Flexible (Excluding London)
This is a great job for someone who enjoys leading a team of pricing experts while also remaining hands-on in delivering customer and commercial value.
If you're passionate about developing pricing talent, naturally curious, commercially minded, and enjoy seeing ideas move from concept to delivery, this could be an excellent opportunity. You'll work with a fast, flexible and custom-built rating engine, helping shape pricing decisions that support both customer outcomes and business growth.
A bit about the job:
You'll join Darwin, a tech-led motor insurance business built by a small, entrepreneurial team with big ambitions. As part of Aviva, Darwin combines the agility and innovation of a start-up with the scale, support and stability of a major insurer.
The role sits at the heart of Darwin's Pricing & Underwriting team, where you'll lead a team of pricing experts and help shape the future of insurance pricing through modern tools, data-driven insight and innovation. You'll identify opportunities, develop pricing solutions and drive pricing innovation, while taking end-to-end ownership of customer pricing across both risk and margin. The role is accountable for driving profitable growth, delivering strong customer outcomes and leading, developing and inspiring a high-performing pricing team.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven experience leading and developing pricing teams, including coaching, mentoring and performance management.
- Strong pricing and analytical capability, with experience in statistical modelling, portfolio optimisation and data-driven decision-making.
- Advanced SQL, Python and Excel skills, alongside a strong understanding of, or ambition to develop expertise across, the end-to-end insurance pricing process from analysis through to deployment and monitoring.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and build effective relationships across Pricing, Underwriting, Trading, Data Science and Technology teams.
- Proven experience delivering complex pricing initiatives from concept through to implementation, balancing customer outcomes, commercial performance and strategic objectives.
