A bit about the job:
This is a London-based role and will focus on supporting Aviva’s recently acquired Lloyd’s business. This includes preparation of a Lloyd’s sub-group’s corporation tax returns, oversight of tax risk and financial reporting for the sub-group and managing tax advisory work (ad hoc and wider projects). The job involves developing a strong working relationship with the business and the Lloyd’s tax team to ensure we keep up to date with policy changes, in the UK and overseas, that may impact Aviva. The job also provides the potential opportunity to support the wider Aviva business within the Aviva Group Tax team.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
The successful candidate will be an accountant, qualified tax professional or will be otherwise comparably qualified by experience (gained either in industry or in practice).
Expert understanding of UK corporate and other taxes in relation to UK financial services and, particularly, the Lloyd’s market.
Experience of preparing and managing tax compliance and reporting within Lloyd’s.
Understanding of strategic/business issues for the Lloyd’s market and able to interpret and apply complex tax rules in transaction, compliance and reporting contexts with specific reference to Lloyd’s.
Strong communication skills, collaborative work ethic and ability to manage and communicate appropriately with varied stakeholders.
