A bit about the job

Our Financial Lines Chief Underwriting Office team helps ensure we make consistent, responsible underwriting decisions that support customers and drive sustainable growth.

As a Senior Technical Underwriter, you'll provide technical expertise across our Management Liability, D&O and Financial Institutions portfolios. You'll help shape underwriting standards, governance frameworks and portfolio oversight activities. Working closely with colleagues across underwriting, claims, product, legal and actuarial teams, you'll identify emerging risks and support continuous improvement. This is an exciting opportunity to influence underwriting strategy and help shape the future of Financial Lines at Aviva.

Skills and experience we're looking for

Essential

• Strong Financial Lines experience gained through underwriting or another relevant technical discipline.
• Technical knowledge of Management Liability, D&O and/or Financial Institutions business.
• Ability to analyse complex issues and provide practical underwriting guidance.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Strong awareness of emerging risks, market developments and customer outcomes.

Nice to Have

• Experience using portfolio analytics and data-driven insights.
• Exposure to governance, oversight or underwriting controls.
• Interest in AI and emerging technology within underwriting.
