A bit about the job:
We’re looking for a Senior Snowflake Technical Lead to help us shape the future of customer data at Aviva. You’ll join our Customer Data Platforms team – a group that powers key customer journeys and decisions. Your work will enable smarter insights, fairer outcomes, and better experiences for our customers.
As a Senior Snowflake Technical Lead you’ll play a key role in shaping scalable, enterprise-grade data solutions that power customer insights and decision-making across Aviva. You’ll lead the design and development of Snowflake-based data products that support analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML capabilities. Working closely with cross-functional teams, you’ll architect robust data pipelines, integrate with platforms like AWS and Salesforce, and enable real-time analytics using tools such as Kafka and Kinesis.
You’ll champion Snowflake best practices, mentor engineers, and ensure alignment with our enterprise architecture and security standards. Alongside delivery, you’ll advise on data governance, quality, and compliance—using tools like Collibra, Immuta, and dbt Cloud—to help us maintain trust and transparency in how we manage customer data.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Proven experience leading Snowflake solutions in a large-scale enterprise.
Strong SQL, data modelling, and ELT/ETL pipeline design.
Hands-on experience with AWS, dbt, and data integration tools.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps, and Agile ways of working.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Starting salary circa £80,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
