This is a great job for someone who…

…has strong technical investment knowledge and is passionate about developing sustainable investing strategies, frameworks and processes. This role will suit someone who enjoys analytical work, can confidently review complex methodologies, and thrives in collaborative projects that influence investment decision‑making across a large organisation.

A bit about the job:

You’ll lead two key projects that advance Aviva’s sustainable investing strategies and support their integration into investment decision making. Your work will enhance our vendor solution for sustainability‑focused fund analysis by assessing platform options, developing a monitoring dashboard with our Wealth and Customer Investments teams and supporting implementation. You’ll collaborate closely with the Sustainable Investing Management team to strengthen asset manager oversight by embedding analytical capabilities and strategic processes. You may also contribute to developing and implementing new PCAF v3 methodologies across asset classes and analysing climate and nature parameters including GHG emissions, transition and physical risk, transition plans, Paris alignment and nature risk. Alongside this, you may support investment, risk and sustainability teams in embedding climate, nature and social considerations into investment decisions and contribute to broader research, market analysis and strategy development aligned to Aviva’s sustainability ambitions.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

  • Strong technical understanding of asset class investment approaches, with experience reviewing and analysing complex methodologies or investment strategies.
  • Experience working with institutional investors or asset managers on models, mandates or processes that integrate climate and nature risks and opportunities into investments or risk management (experience with social safeguards and just transition is desirable).
  • A very good understanding of climate, nature and wider sustainability risks, policies, regulatory and disclosure practices, market trends and asset‑class investment approaches.
  • Strong analytical capability with confidence applying statistical and mathematical concepts, alongside the ability to manage multiple priorities, work at pace with minimal supervision, and deliver high‑quality outputs with excellent organisation and stakeholder management.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field, with CFA charterholder status desirable, and a strong background in investment or sustainable investing.
