Underwriting Quality Assurance Manager –

Salary London: Up to £90,000, National: Up to £65,000

This is a great role for someone with strong Commercial Lines underwriting experience who is passionate about governance, risk, and driving high-quality underwriting standards. It would suit someone looking to step into a broader oversight role with real influence across a large commercial portfolio.

A bit about the job:

Reporting to the Underwriting Quality Assurance Lead, you’ll play a key role in providing oversight of underwriting risk and quality assurance processes across our UKGI Commercial business.

You’ll help shape and maintain robust underwriting governance frameworks, ensuring they effectively mitigate risk and operate as intended, while driving action to address any weaknesses. You’ll also represent Aviva externally, engaging with stakeholders such as regulators, reinsurers, and market bodies to influence and inform key discussions.

This is a highly visible role, giving you the opportunity to embed best practice, support regulatory compliance, and strengthen the overall control environment across Commercial Lines.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Strong knowledge of Commercial Lines underwriting, risk, and control frameworks

• Good understanding of regulatory requirements and how they apply to underwriting activity

• Experience of reviewing and improving governance frameworks and risk controls

• Ability to analyse complex information and identify key risks and themes

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across teams

• Salary - London: Up to £90,000, National: Up to £65,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
