We’re looking for an Actuarial System Architect to join our Modelling & Systems team and play a key role in shaping the future of Aviva’s actuarial technology. You’ll lead the design and evolution of our modelling and systems landscape — ensuring it is robust, scalable and aligned to business and regulatory needs.

You’ll work closely with actuarial teams, finance, risk, technology partners and colleagues across the wider business to embed strong governance, deliver high‑quality modelling solutions and continuously improve how we operate.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development and long‑term architecture of actuarial modelling systems across IFRS, Solvency II and other reporting bases.

  • Drive system enhancements and continuous improvements to increase automation, efficiency and scalability.

  • Own and maintain end‑to‑end actuarial modelling processes, ensuring robust governance and alignment with group‑wide standards.

  • Provide expert challenge and assurance on methodologies, model implementation and system controls.

  • Oversee change control governance, ensuring strong documentation, testing and risk management.

  • Coach and develop colleagues while collaborating with actuarial, finance, risk and external stakeholders to deliver high‑quality outcomes.

Skills & Experience

  • Strong knowledge of Solvency II, IFRS and actuarial modelling practices.

  • Technical experience with Prophet and proficiency in R, Python, SQL or similar tools used in modelling and systems integration.

  • Strong ability to analyse complex quantitative and qualitative data, applying forecasting and machine‑learning techniques where relevant.

  • Proven experience improving modelling processes, controls and operational efficiency.

  • Excellent project and time‑management skills, comfortable leading technical initiatives and managing competing priorities.

  • Clear communicator with strong influencing skills, able to simplify complexity and uphold professional standards aligned to IFoA guidance.
