This role would suit someone with hands‑on experience in AI engineering who’s excited to take their impact further—whether you’re already working with generative AI or are ready to step into a more strategic, enterprise‑scale environment. You’ll be comfortable building production‑ready solutions and motivated by delivering value in a regulated, customer‑focused organisation.

A bit about the job

This role exists to help Aviva design, build, and scale generative AI solutions that deliver meaningful outcomes for our customers and our business. You’ll join a collaborative team within our UK AI Centre of Excellence, working across the full AI development lifecycle—from data ingestion and model integration through to deployment and monitoring.

Using one of the richest insurance datasets in the world, you’ll create secure, compliant, and impactful AI solutions in close partnership with architects, platform engineers, and governance teams. You’ll be accountable for delivering high‑quality, enterprise‑ready AI products that support Aviva’s strategic investment in AI, cloud, and advanced analytics.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong experience with AI and agentic frameworks, such as LangGraph, Crew AI, Strands, or similar tools
  • Proficiency in AWS, with experience of CI/CD pipelines, Git, and infrastructure‑as‑code
  • Experience in front‑end or full‑stack development using JavaScript/TypeScript and frameworks such as React
  • Hands‑on experience deploying containerised applications using Docker and Kubernetes
  • Confidence working in regulated environments, with a strong focus on security, compliance, and privacy‑preserving AI, alongside the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a wide range of stakeholders

  • Starting salary circa £40,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
