Salary: National circa £70,000

A bit about the job

You’ll be joining our Platforms Automation team, which leads the delivery of automation solutions across Aviva using strategic tools like Robotic Process Automation, Business Process Management, and Intelligent Document Processing.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll provide consultancy, lead development on strategic projects, and ensure best practices are followed throughout the software development lifecycle. You’ll also mentor junior developers, support apprentices, and contribute to design reviews and technology decisions that shape our future.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

• Strong hands-on experience with Appian and/or other automation technologies (RPA, BPM, IDP)
• Proven ability to lead development projects and influence technical decisions
• Comfortable providing consultancy, design support, and guidance across teams and stakeholders
• Experience mentoring junior developers or apprentices
• Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across diverse teams

• Starting salary circa £70,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
