This role is ideal for someone who’s highly numerate, detail-oriented, and looking to apply their DB knowledge in a new and exciting insurance environment. Whether you're progressing through actuarial exams (with sponsorship available) or have chosen not to pursue qualification, your experience is valued here. If you’ve gained solid DB exposure, this is a great opportunity to translate those skills into a BPA actuarial role.
A bit about the job:
You’ll be joining our Bulk Purchase Annuity (BPA) actuarial team, which supports the onboarding and operations teams in delivering smooth implementation of new deals and ongoing services to customers. The team is based in Norwich and York and includes a mix of qualified actuaries and analysts. Your role will involve performing and reviewing calculations, maintaining administration factors, supporting trustee and corporate accounting valuations, and providing technical input across BPA projects. You’ll also liaise with auditors, attend trustee meetings, and help ensure our actuarial processes are robust and efficient.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
Solid experience with Defined Benefit pensions (essential)
Experience of calculating transfer values and/or actuarial valuations
Strong numerical and analytical skills, with attention to detail
Good IT skills (VBA an advantage)
Progressing through actuarial exams or experienced without pursuing qualification

Salary up to £50,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
