Aviva
Change and Operational Risk Manager
We’re looking for a Change and Operational Risk Manager to join our 2nd Line Risk team. This role plays a vital part in helping Aviva deliver change safely, strengthen our control environment, and ensure risks are well understood, well managed and escalated at the right time.
Working as part of the second line, you’ll provide independent oversight, challenge and support across operational risk, risk frameworks and business change activity. You’ll act as a central coordination point for partners, helping embed our frameworks, guiding best practice, and enabling consistent and controlled delivery across the business. You will also play an important role in producing high‑quality risk insights and reporting to support senior‑level decision making.
Duties & Responsibilities
Provide clear and effective second line oversight of operational risks, controls and change activity, ensuring frameworks, templates and regulatory expectations are consistently applied.
Coordinate the risk business partnering model, acting as a central point of contact for partners and supporting consistent application of operational risk and change management frameworks.
Identify and escalate deviations from operational risk or change approaches, supporting partners to strengthen controls and remediate issues.
Produce high‑quality risk insights, monitoring and reporting, including deep dive analysis and contributions to Risk Committee and Board reporting.
Lead and support the review, tracking and remediation of RCSAs, risk events, KRIs, actions and control testing outcomes, acting as a subject matter expert and ambassador for operational risk and change.
Promote risk‑aware behaviours and a strong risk culture, supporting the continued embedding and maturity of operational risk and change management across the business.
Skills & Experience
Experience in operational risk, oversight, governance or audit within a regulated environment.
Understanding of RCSA, risk events, actions and KRI processes, with the ability to analyse data, identify issues and provide clear, structured insights.
Confident challenging and influencing partners, with strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to simplify complex information.
Highly organised and detail‑focused, able to coordinate multiple activities and maintain accurate, current risk and control documentation.
Awareness of regulatory expectations relating to outsourcing and operational resilience; familiarity with Solvency II and CBI guidance is desirable.
Fitness & Probity
This is a Regulated Role and will be subject to enhanced pre-employment screening procedures. There will be an on-going requirement for the role holder to maintain fit and proper status.
