Senior Risk Strategy Manager
We’re looking for a Senior Risk Strategy Manager to join our Risk team on a 12 Month Fixed Term Contract. You’ll help lead second line oversight of forward-looking risk, strategic change, and risk policy. This role brings clarity and pace to our risk deliverables and ensures risk insight shapes strategic decisions. You’ll work closely with senior stakeholders across Aviva Ireland and Group, helping us anticipate future risks and strengthen our resilience. You’ll be joining a collaborative, high-impact team that supports Aviva’s long-term strategy and risk culture.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead second line oversight of strategic change programmes, ensuring risk views are clear, timely, and forward-looking.
Shape and deliver high-quality risk reporting to Board and Executive Committees, with clear insights and impact.
Oversee the emerging risk process and contribute to strategic planning and ORSA assessments.
Drive second line climate risk work, including scenario selection, appetite setting, and ORSA inputs.
Support the Head of ERM in leading the ERM team and deputise if needed.
Skills & Experiences
Strong understanding of non-life insurance risk and regulatory frameworks.
Experience in risk, actuarial, strategy, or transformation roles with senior stakeholder engagement.
Actuarial background is an advantage but not essential.
Proven ability to lead risk management initiatives and deliver Board-level reporting.
Exposure to ORSA processes, climate risk assessments, or strategic programme oversight.
Confident communicator with sharp written output and ability to influence at senior levels.
Fitness and Probity
This is a Regulated Role and will be subject to enhanced pre-employment screening procedures. There will be an on-going requirement for the role holder to maintain fit and proper status.
