This is a great job for someone who is an experienced commercial underwriter or is ready to take the next step in mid‑market underwriting. You’ll enjoy making sound underwriting decisions, working closely with brokers, and taking ownership of complex cases, while continuing to develop your technical authority and underwriting licence levels.

A bit about the job

This role sits within GI Distribution & SME Trading – Mid‑Market, where you’ll be responsible for delivering high‑quality underwriting service aligned to our strategy. You’ll underwrite new business, renewals and mid‑term adjustments within your licence level, while supporting broker relationships and contributing to service and process improvements. The role plays a key part in helping us retain customers, grow the portfolio and deliver market‑leading service.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Strong experience in commercial underwriting, with the ability to make sound underwriting decisions within authority levels

• Knowledge of insurance products, underwriting processes and regulatory requirements

• Proven ability to manage priorities and deliver excellent service in a fast‑paced environment

• Confidence in engaging with brokers and stakeholders, including handling more complex cases

• A customer‑focused mindset, with good attention to detail and risk awareness
