A bit about the job

We’re looking for an Data Architect within MDM (Master Data Management) to help us design and grow the master data capabilities that power decision‑making across Aviva. You’ll join our Data Architecture team, who set the standards and patterns used across the business. Your work will ensure we have trusted, authoritative data that underpins everything from customer journeys to regulatory reporting. You’ll guide how master data is modelled, integrated and shared. And you’ll help business and technology teams use master data confidently and consistently.

You’ll design end‑to‑end MDM architecture, shape target‑state capabilities for key data domains, and build models that align with our enterprise standards. You’ll govern matching rules, survivorship logic and data quality thresholds to keep our master data accurate and trusted. You’ll also define secure integration patterns across APIs, events, batch and real‑time flows. Alongside this, you’ll put strong governance and stewardship processes in place and give clear architectural guidance to help teams deliver and adopt high‑quality MDM solutions.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • Strong experience designing and delivering Master Data Management solutions at enterprise scale.
  • Deep understanding of data modelling, matching, survivorship, and data quality principles.
  • Hands‑on experience with MDM technologies such as Reltio, Informatica, or Ataccama.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate complex concepts into simple, practical solutions.
  • Experience defining integration patterns and working with APIs, events and data platforms.
