Data Engineering Specialist

Salary: National £55,000 - £65,000

Enjoys working with large and complex datasets and wants to play a key role in supporting commercial modelling, pricing and underwriting teams. This role would suit someone with strong experience in data engineering, ETL processes, reporting and analytics, who is keen to develop their technical skills in a rapidly evolving data environment including AI. You'll have demonstratable experience working with a variety of stakeholders, balancing priorities, and taking ownership of delivering high-quality data solutions.

A bit about the job:

You'll join a central and highly visible team responsible for delivering innovative and effective data solutions across the business. The role focuses on ETL development, reporting and data analysis ensuring data is accurate, timely and fit for purpose. You will have a strong understanding of data governance and GDPR. Working closely with pricing, underwriting and other commercial direct teams, you'll adhere to strong data quality, streamline processes and provide insights that support business decision-making. You will also help with technical training of junior members in the team and wider pricing in general. You'll also have opportunities to learn new technologies and contribute to the evolution of our data capabilities.

Skills & Experience

• Very strong experience using Alteryx with strong knowledge of Tableau and SQL.

• Excellent understanding of data quality principles, ETL processes and database structures.

• Demonstratable experience delivering reporting, data analysis and data transformation solutions in a commercial or analytical environment.

• Demonstratable experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders while managing priorities and delivering high-quality outcomes.

• Experience within General Insurance or Commercial Insurance would be highly advantageous.

• Salary National £55,000 - £65,000  (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
