Salary: National £55,000 - £65,000
Locations: Norwich/ Bristol/ Perth/ York
We’re looking for a Data Engineering Environment & Release Lead to own and drive how change moves safely and efficiently through our Customer Data Platform. This is a pivotal role focused on environment stability, release governance, and deployment excellence, enabling data engineering teams to deliver at pace in a regulated, enterprise environment.
You’ll act as the single point of accountability for environment strategy and release execution across CDP, shaping standards, improving automation and removing delivery friction.
A bit about the job:
- Own and manage all non-production environments across the Customer Data Platform engineering estate
- Lead and coordinate end‑to‑end releases, including complex, multi‑team deployments
- Define and improve release, deployment and environment standards
- Partner with engineering, platform, security and QE teams to ensure production readiness and risk control
- Drive automation, consistency and resilience across environments and releases
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Strong experience in environment and release management for data, platform or engineering systems
- Hands‑on knowledge of CI/CD, deployment pipelines and infrastructure‑as‑code
- Experience working in cloud‑based data platforms (AWS preferred)
- Comfortable operating in a complex, regulated environment where risk management is a key driver of decision making
- Confident influencing and supporting multiple engineering teams

- Starting salary £55,000 - £65,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
