About the Role
We’re looking for a Data Governance Lead to embed robust, practical governance across a major enterprise platform—ensuring data is trusted, well-controlled, and compliant from design through to delivery. In this role, you’ll champion governance by design, drive clear data ownership and quality standards, and provide strong oversight of controls while partnering closely with delivery, architecture, risk, and security teams. You’ll lead governance forums, support informed senior decision-making, and simplify processes to enable faster, safer outcomes. Bringing experience in complex data environments, you’ll combine a solid understanding of data quality, controls, and compliance with a pragmatic, delivery-focused mindset, and the confidence to influence, challenge, and align stakeholders at all levels.
What you’ll do
- Embed governance by design across projects and platforms
- Drive data ownership, quality, and control oversight
- Partner with delivery, architecture, risk, and security teams
- Lead governance forums and support senior decision-making
- Simplify governance processes to enable faster, safer delivery
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Experience in data governance or data management in complex environments
- Strong stakeholder skills—able to influence and challenge
- Solid understanding of data quality, controls, and compliance
- Pragmatic approach balancing risk and delivery pace

- Starting salary £65,000 – £75,000 for National based (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
- Bonus opportunity 10% of annual salary - Actual amount depends on your performance and Aviva’s
