Data Risk & Controls Manager
Data Risk and Controls Manager – FTC 12 months
Location: Bristol
Salary: circa £65k
Are you someone with a strong background in operational risk and control who is ready to step up and take on new challenges in working with Marketing Data?
Do you already have some experience of data governance, privacy, or marketing requirements, or are you eager to gain exposure to this growing and dynamic field?
If you have a ‘can do’ attitude and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would like to hear from you.
A bit about the job:
As a Data Risk and Controls Manager, you will play a key role in advising and supporting data colleagues on risk and control requirements. This will include developing or revising controls to meet evolving needs, conducting control assessments and thematic deep dives into data risks and supporting key projects to ensure data risks are effectively managed.
You’ll be part of the Customer & Marketing (C&M) Data Governance team which is part of the wider Data Products team. You’ll work alongside a wide range of stakeholders across Data and Digital projects, Marketing, UK Market Data teams, Group, and Legal.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to grow their expertise in data governance, risk management, and privacy while making a significant impact in a critical and fast-evolving area.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Experience advising data and marketing teams on risk and control requirements, and supporting best practice with risk and control oversight tooling (such as IBM OpenPages)
- Ability to review and update risk and controls, including contributing to Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) processes for three key data risks
- Experience maintaining risk and control registers, with the ability to run reports and update dashboards to support decision-making
- Strong collaboration skills, working with stakeholders to improve reporting, controls, and risk awareness across teams
- Ability to support projects with risk analysis, including privacy assessments and data change reviews (experience with Qlik is helpful, not essential)
