A bit about the job:

This is a key role in delivering Aviva’s Data Science Strategy, helping to drive innovation that improves broker experience and enhances the performance of our commercial business lines. You’ll work closely with underwriters and business teams to develop and integrate data-driven tools—like APIs and interactive applications—that make insights actionable.

We’re looking for someone who’s excited to collaborate, experiment, and bring new ideas to life. Whether you’ve worked in insurance or not, your ability to translate complex data into practical solutions is what matters most.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Experience with programming languages like R, Python, SQL, or similar

• Familiarity with dashboard or API development (e.g., R Shiny is a plus)

• A creative, analytical mindset with a passion for problem-solving

• A self-starter who’s organised, adaptable, and eager to learn

• Strong communication skills, especially when explaining technical ideas to non-technical audiences

• Starting salary up to £35,000.
