A bit about the job:

As a Data Scientist in our Data Insights team, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering advanced analytics and machine learning solutions that drive strategic decision-making and operational efficiency across our General Insurance business. The position holder will be contributing to the development of scalable, production-ready solutions in collaboration with senior data scientists and engineers - from identifying opportunities and defining problems, to developing models, and monitoring their performance in production.

The successful individual will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineering and business stakeholders, to ensure solutions are practical, scalable, and aligned with business goals.

Skills and experience we’re looking for:

• Strong programming skills in Python, with experience writing clean, maintainable and efficient code.
• Proficiency in SQL-like languages and experience with Snowflake or similar platforms.
• Solid understanding of statistical modelling, hypothesis testing, and data analysis techniques.
• Experience with machine learning frameworks and model evaluation techniques, with the ability to help shape the accuracy and reliability of machine learning models used in pricing, underwriting, claims, and customer experience.
• Familiar with working closely with data engineering teams.

• Starting salary circa £30,000 (National) / circa £35,000 (London) (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
