We’re looking for a Data Scientist to join our high-profile Data Science and Advanced Analytics Team at Aviva. This is your chance to work with one of the richest insurance datasets in the world and help shape our future of Counter-Fraud Advanced Analytics capability through cutting-edge analytics, ML and Generative AI.
A bit about the job:
In this role, you’ll apply advanced analytics and machine learning techniques to tackle complex fraud-related challenges, helping to protect customers and the business. You’ll work across the full data science lifecycle, from problem definition, data exploration and wrangling through to model development, deployment, and monitoring. Collaborating closely with stakeholders, you’ll translate business needs into actionable insights and production-ready AI solutions that deliver measurable impact.
As part of Quantum, Aviva’s dedicated Data Science community, you’ll also have the opportunity to continuously develop your expertise through learning, knowledge sharing, and collaboration with fellow data science professionals.
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Degree or MSc in a numerate field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or a modelling-based science.
- Experience in data science techniques including statistics, machine learning, and AI.
- Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and/or R.
- Ability to communicate complex technical ideas to non-technical audiences.
- Experience working with large datasets and deploying models into production environments.

- Starting salary £30,000 - £35,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
