Financial Reporting & Control Accountant

This is a great job for someone who is newly qualified or early in their finance career and looking to build strong technical experience across financial and regulatory reporting. If you enjoy working with numbers, improving processes, and collaborating with different teams, this role could be an excellent next step. It’s well suited to someone with an interest in insurance accounting and a desire to broaden their exposure across a full finance function.

A bit about the job

  • You’ll support the delivery of accurate and timely monthly management accounts and reporting packs for the Ireland General Insurance business.

  • The role sits within a small, supportive Financial Reporting & Control team, offering you wide exposure to various areas such as actuarial, tax, investments, FP&A and expenses.

  • You’ll contribute to quarterly and annual reporting under IFRS17 and Solvency II.

  • You’ll assist in the review of annual Financial Statements and help respond to auditor queries.

  • You’ll play a part in strengthening our control environment by enhancing processes and supporting risk, control, and outsourcing activities.

Skills and experience we’re looking for

  • A relevant business or accountancy qualification, and ideally newly qualified (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or with equivalent experience and Insurance experience is highly preferable.

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information.

  • Exposure to IFRS17, Solvency II, or technical accounting is an advantage but not essential.

  • Ability to work well under pressure and manage deadlines within a team environment.

  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and general Windows applications.
