Governance & Assurance Senior Manager
We’re looking for a Governance & Assurance Senior Manager to lead and evolve our governance and assurance frameworks. You’ll help us meet regulatory standards, support our first line of defence, and embed a strong risk culture across ALPIDAC. This role is central to how we manage risk, make decisions, and build trust with our regulators and colleagues. You’ll work closely with senior leaders and risk partners across the business. And you’ll lead a team that’s passionate about doing the right thing, every time.
Duties & Responsibilities
Lead the development and delivery of governance and assurance frameworks, ensuring alignment with Aviva Group standards and CBI expectations.
Own and execute the first line assurance plan, including control testing, thematic reviews, and risk-based assessments.
Provide timely, insightful risk reporting to ExCo, ERC, and BRC, and manage key deliverables like our risk scorecard.
Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and the first line risk contact for Group, promoting a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Lead and develop a team, fostering collaboration across governance, assurance, ORCM, transformation, and pensions functions.
Skills & Experience
Strong knowledge of insurance regulation and risk frameworks
Experience in governance, assurance, or risk control roles
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Proven leadership and team development experience
Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
