We’re looking for a Governance Manager to join our Strategy & Governance team within Aviva Life & Pensions Ireland (ALPI). This is a hands-on, tactical role where you’ll help embed and evolve governance frameworks across the organisation. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to ensure governance excellence, regulatory alignment, and effective decision-making. This is a fantastic opportunity to influence strategic governance initiatives and support Board and Committee processes in a dynamic, regulated environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance internal governance frameworks aligned with ALPI’s strategic direction
  • Coordinate governance support for strategic initiatives and transformation programmes
  • Prepare high-quality materials for Board and Executive Committees
  • Oversee internal policy lifecycle and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Risk, Compliance, Legal, and other teams
  • Support regulatory reviews, audits, and governance documentation

Skills & Experiences:

  • Substantial experience in governance, risk, compliance, or regulatory affairs within Life Insurance
  • Strong understanding of Irish and EU regulatory frameworks (e.g. CBI, Solvency II)
  • Experience supporting Board or Committee governance processes
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills
  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and resilient under pressure
  • Familiarity with governance platforms (e.g. Diligent, Board Intelligence)
