Sitting at the heart of Personal Lines, the Head of Analytics will collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders to create a culture of customer-centric excellence and clear communication, driving continuous improvement and market-leading performance.
A bit about the job
Technical Modelling of risk cost, customer behaviours and policy fraud are critical Personal Lines capabilities, fundamental to being able to write profitable business. Working closely with channel CUOs, CUO Manufacturing teams, Trading, Claims and the wider Data & Analytics team, the role holder will play a leading role in ensuring we have the right strategy and capabilities to support a market-leading position.
Data and data science solutions are critical to achieving competitive advantage and retaining customers. Utilising a combination of machine learning and AI, robust data pipelines, domain expertise and collaboration across the end-to-end system, the Head of Analytics is tasked with establishing Aviva as an industry leader in risk selection and behavioural modelling to ensure our pricing capability can deliver sustained market share and profit growth. With accountability for leading data science strategy, development and execution this role supports good customer and financial outcomes, as well as advancing Aviva’s strength in data science capability.
Working with CUO teams, the Head of Analytics will constantly identify emerging opportunities and threats to performance, developing market-leading capabilities and work with the channel CUO teams to ensure we remain competitive across all of our target groups. They will also leverage external inputs, exploring new data assets or technical capabilities and working with CUO Manufacturing teams to seek sponsorship, investment and delivery of enhancements to our pricing architecture and data enrichment.
Skills and experience we’re looking for
- Demonstrable ability to enact transformation and build high-performing teams
- Excellent understanding of the UK general insurance market, particularly an understanding of Personal Lines insurance pricing and associated techniques particularly risk cost modeling
- First-class knowledge of data science /modeling techniques, tools, and applications.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to innovate both strategically and operationally.
- Experience understanding risk management and the ability to advise and influence senior management.

- Salary: £110,000 - £125,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
